Rain Rain Go Away

As I sit on my porch and look onto the site I see no one. The reason for this is rain. It is absolutely pouring down. As I endure a drop here and a drop there the rain thunder down onto the pavement of the site. It’s a cold and as I’m outside a jacket is needed. Lightning strikes once in a while and even though its only 5 o clock the sky is so dark. This cite does not match this weather. Rain is the kryptonite to this site. No one is here and nobody is on their way.

As I continue to sit here watching the level of the water slowly rise I realize how dependent this venue is on the weather. The only people I have seen in the past 30 minutes are the people running with their shaped raised above their head to provide a temporary shelter form the rain. It’s just me outside embracing the rain. Rain is what kills most of outside activity. Unfortunately everyone is inside staying out of the weather. With the presence of lightning, the water is not a great place to be and it understandable that no one is within sight. You would that because of our location that this kind of weather would be hard to come by but this is the second one of my observations that was been affected by it.

As the pool starts to over flow and the water starts to cover the footpath it makes it less and less likely that I will be seeing any more signs of life. As I look down I see that the water is slowly trickling onto my porch and I will need to leave soon.

After sitting here for close to 45 minutes it’s clear that the rain is not going to be slowing down anytime soon and because of that no one will be attending the site. My only observable people have been ones running frantically across the path trying to find the nearest form of shelter. Just like all of these other people I would like to be inside. There’s something about the rain that most people don’t like. I can’t see anybody standing outside observing it. Even though water can’t hurt you people act like they are allergic to it. Comfort is so big to people and being wet I uncomfortable and we can’t be having that. It’s clear that rain kills outside activities especially ones that involve a body of water.

So as I pack up and head inside I sit here hoping that next week I’ll be receiving the suns glare off the pavement as I observe the people enjoying the site like it was made for.
