Celebration

The evening was chilly but nobody seemed to mind. As you walked in you could tell everybody inside had had a good day. The place was not empty but it was not filled. A few tables here and there were filled, mostly by couples.

The only other group was next to me, a group of four boys. They were all relatively the same age, all wearing jeans, two wearing hats, and the other half scarfs. They seemed to be talking about some sort of party either they had been to or were going to go. As they ordered they began to point at things on the menu deciding if they would share or not.  The whole time I was there, their whole topic of conversation was that very interesting party, so decided to move on.

On my other side there was an empty table that was later occupied by a family. This family consisted of this couple that had walked in with a stroller. As they took a seat, they requested if the waiter could please bring baby seat. As the waiter brought the seat, the man proceeded to disassemble the baby car seat from the stroller to place it over the seat the waiter was holding. As they couple ordered and ate, they took turns entertaining the: what seemed like a four month old baby girl.

In the far of corner, almost out of sight, was a couple. They were surrounded by waiters, with cameras. At first I thought they might have been a local celebrity, but as the crowd cleared, I got a better view of what was going on.  The guy in the booth was smiling from ear to ear, looking at the girl next to him who was in tears holding her hand. In her hand was a ring that from my place looking huge, I was blind from over here. She then looked up and started to cry even harder, some people approached the table and started to hug her, which is then I realized that the people were her parents.

Everybody in that place was in a very happy mood, having experienced that wonderful moment and the night was very pleasant.
