Cowboys Fans

I am seated near the front of the restaurant this time. The waiter seats me and waits on me. She has long black hair put up into a ponytail. The section I’m in is exposed to the hustle near the door. This is another time that the host and waiter is a woman. The restaurant this time is a hacienda style building with a home like feeling. The section I’m in has four long tables with two groups in the two nearest me.

The furthest away is occupied by an older group of people. Maybe they are in their mid to late fifties. They are all wearing casual wear and dress in similar styles. There seems to be a couple within the group. The man has on a hat and is wearing thick glasses to read the menu that he holds far from himself. The woman has faint white hair, it looks to be recently done. It is looking like most older woman that I have observed have their hair cut short and done in a salon style. She sits addressing the waiter politely. Asking many questions about the contents of various dishes. The other members of the group are too far away to hear but I can read some body language. They seem to be quiet with their conversation. Not just the sound but with the gestures and the topics, as ye are not turning heads in the restaurant.

The table closer to me provides me with much more context into their conversation because of their proximity. It is a two couple group. They are all dressed in football attire; the men wear jerseys along with one woman. The last is wearing a scarf and earrings to match. The sports team? The Dallas Cowboys. This table is very passionate of about their topics, many arguments are beginning to become overbearing to the surrounding tables. They talk about the various problems with their favorite sports team. For looking like a group of super fans they sure do seem to not appreciate any good parts of their team. The men are both Hispanic with short hair with sunglasses hanging on their skulls. One woman is blonde and the other has brown hair, they could be related though. They have similar facial features and body types. They don’t get too involved in the statistical conversations. They only put their two cents in when they want to talk about how much they hate a famous quarterback. Besides their short outbursts of violence they are glued to cell phones. It is beginning to be a trend in woman to have cell phones out during a meal. Some men might have them out but it is looking like the majority belongs to the woman.
