        DAY CARE DAY NINE

Today, in the daycare I came in to the children changing the order of how they do things in a normal days setting. Instead of them enjoying playing in free time, they were all gathered in a group listening to the teacher read a book called Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. They children were so deeply into the book, they normally notice me come in. instead, today they wouldn’t have even noticed a fly land on their nose. They teacher was changing her voice for the characters and making the book into a song like book, so that they kids could interact at different times.

After the story was over the teacher begin to tell them their next activity. They were to go sit at the tables, and they were to draw what they remember from the book. The main object for this activity was to test the children memory. The crayons, and markers came out. A little girl was picked to pass out the construction paper, shortly after the room was yet silent again due to the children drawing and thinking. After a while I notice a lot them remember the tree from the book, which was the main character in the story.

Soon after, which was thirty minutes, the children were aloud to go and enjoy free time. When they were told, they dropped their crayons and markers and went straight to playing. Children were playing with puppets, blocks, and just some running around as if they were confused to what they wanted to do. I saw children glad to share, playing different games with each other. They seemed to be focused on whatever they were doing. These children were so focused, they didn’t even noticed that the teacher had cut the lights off so that they could get ready for candle time.

When the teacher finally got their attention, they started to sit in a circle and listen to what they teacher was telling them. They begin to do yoga, stretching and being quick so they could listen to what they heard in their surroundings. This exercise was helping them learn how to multitask. Some of them were doing a good job at this well others were just able to one o the other. When they finally settled down from shouting out what they heard, it was time for one of the children to blow out the candle. One of the boys did so then, it was time for them to have snack time. Everyone ran to the restroom, started to wash and dry their hands. After doing so they started to go sit by their friends talking while they waited for snacks to be handed out.

The children received their water bottles, then after they were giving pretzel gold fish and freshly cut peaches. They seemed to be enjoying what they were giving for snack today. When everyone finished they were sit on the carpet, so that they could do sing along. They started to do so, everyone doing what the song was saying to do. After the children were into the activity of singing along, parent started to show up little by little. They started putting their shoes on and signing out when their parents started to show up. The ones that were still there were cleaning up their centers from free time that had earlier.
